Sizanani Mutual Assistance Society, a not-for-profit organization, was established to assist its members to cope with the extraordinary expenses associated with unplanned travel in the event of the death of designated relatives.

The group consists mainly of members based in North America, whose designated relatives are mainly in Zimbabwe's second largest city, Bulawayo, and associated areas. The death of any of such designated relatives necessitates that the member concerned travel in order to participate in funeral rites, in accordance with cultural norms.
